how we work

Qualified home care workers

Lifeline's care staff possess a range of experience in providing homecare to all our services user groups. Irrespective of experience, all staff undergo a comprehensive 4 week induction program including a range of classroom teaching, shadowing in the field and supervisions with team leaders.

After induction and a probationary period, staff undertake training to work towards recognised national vocational qualifications (NVQ's) in care. Over 75% of our staff already have NVQ2/3 in care, and all new staff are encouraged to begin the NVQ 2 in care within six months of starting with us. All staff receive receive regular supervisions with their team leader and an annual appraisal of their overall standard of performance and training and development needs.

The ways in which our team cares for clients is based upon their individual needs. We offer a full range of support options:

  • Check visits
  • Personal care
  • Complex Health Care
  • Daily Sitting
  • Night Cover (awake / sleepover)
  • Weekend and holidays - with notice cover
